GASLIT

An independent, evidence based archive documenting medical misogyny & gaslightingFrom micro aggressions to lifelong physical & emotional harm

Medical Misogyny is a human rights issue

HAVE YOU…* Doubted your experience of pain or illness despite a definitive diagnosis due to a doctor’s words or actions?* Feared your pain and symptoms aren’t 'bad enough' to deserve treatment, even minutes before a necessary surgery? (I have!)* Felt like a negative or ‘bad’ person due to illness or pain, causing you withdraw socially?* Suffered mental illness as a result of medical gaslighting?* Felt shame, embarrassment or isolation given health or symptoms - even with close friends & family?

WHAT IS TILSAG?‘TILSAG’ is the mirror image of GASLIT.
Medical gaslighting turns lives upside down.
It occurs when our pain and experience is invisible to others, unrecognised or misdiagnosed. It makes us mistrust our own bodies and minds.
As though we’re imagining our pain.
You are not broken. The system is.

THE MISSIONTILSAG is a repository of women’s stories across the lifespan - from 12 to 112 years old.Your stories will create a non-fiction book of wisdom over suffering that aims to change the mindset & lives of countless women.
Let’s extinguish medical gaslighting

WHO AM I?Hi, I'm Christiane. I'm a qualified lawyer, researcher, social worker & writer based in Melbourne, Australia.I'm 46 & have had over 30 surgeries - many of which could have been avoided but for medical misogynyI was a guest on Louise’s podcast in 2025 discussing PMDD. endo, hysterectomy at 42, solo IVF & medical misogyny & gaslighting (link below)I’m a proud solo Mum by choice via IVF

THE WHY?The stories of two ordinary women on the other side of the world - their near identical suffering as a result of medical misogyny- were a revelation.A few minutes on a podcast.Their stories gave me power. What I thought was a personal, unique experience of gaslighting, pain & grief mirrored theirs.TILSAG aims to validate your experience & prevent other women suffering the way we have
